The Clayton family has been building airboats recreationally since 1978. It started with Robert Clayton Senior, Robert (Buster) Clayton Jr. & Steve Clayton. Throughout the years the Clayton family has built a wide range of boats from aircraft, single cylinder Tecumseh, Inline 6 cylinder, Volkswagen, Corvair, Small Block, Big Block, & LS both direct drive and with gear reductions. In the past most new boats consisted of rigging built in house, with hulls provided by other vendors. REC FAB is planning on taking years of lessons learned to build innovative boats with a signature touch on every boat that comes out of the shop. New hull design & testing is underway and turn-key production is scheduled to begin January of 2022. REC FAB strives to build the highest quality & user-friendly airboats in the industry.
